Born and raised in Orange County, CA. where she developed her love for singing and acting sitting
next to her Grandmother playing the piano and her Grandfather playing the banjo to tunes such as "Five Foot Two Eyes Of Blue",
watching endless amounts of musicals and classic movies like "Guys & Dolls & Gone With The Wind.
She got her first taste of performing as a singer & actress in Junior High & High
School participating in Concert Choir, Womens Chorus, Drama, and later in her Senior Year she
went on to win the tittle of Miss Teen Irvine, USA in 1995.
After graduating Masaya attended Irvine Valley College in Irvine, CA where she signed
up for all the Theatre classes that were available to take. Ron Ellison the head of the Theatre Dept. at IVC and former
chair of the Theatre Dept. at USC taught her much of what she knows today. In her time at IVC she was honored to be
a five time award winner of the Peter Plotkin Award for Excellents in Theatre Arts. She would follow with many
shows at IVC including "Good News" as Babe "O" Day, "Guys & Dolls" as Miss Adlelaide, "Babes In Arms" as Bunny, and "Company"
as Amy before moving into live theatre in the community of Orange County.
In 2001 she landed her first paying gig as an actress as Ado Annie in "Oklahoma!" at the Elizabeth
Howard's Curtain Call Theatre in Tustin, CA. She went on to perform on stages througout Orange County and LA over
the next three years such as the West End Dinner Theatre, Westminster Playhouse, and Diversity Players before deciding
to make the leap to Hollywood.
In 2003 Masaya settled in to LA and to this day has performed in Theatre's in and around
LA County & Ventura County such as The Candlelight Pavilion, Stella Adler, High Street Arts Center, Conejo
Players & Diversity Players.
Some of her recent projects include playing the role of Barbara Pepper a longtime friend of Lucille
Ball in a staged reading of "Dance With Me" now known as "THE CUBAN AND THE REDHEAD" by Robert Bartley & Danny
Whitman. The staged reading was featured in the Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles in July of 2008
with Jai Rodriguez (Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, Angel-Rent, Zana Don't), Fleur Philips (The Rise and
Fall of Little Voice and Scapin), Jim J. Bullock (Broadway's Hairspray, Too Close For Comfort, Alf, Hollywood
Squares, Spaceballs), Michelle Blakely (Broadway's Grease, Broadway's Annie Get Your Gun) and
Leslie Easterbrook (Laverne & Shirley, Police Acadamey) the musical is based on Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
Currently she is pursuing a certificate in Theatre from Los Angeles Valley College.
